Boston Bruins prospect eyeing a potential spot this upcoming 2023-24 season
After missing last year's Boston Bruins Development Camp due to health concerns, Mason Lohrei has emerged as one of the team's standout prospects in the 2023 camp.
The 2020 second-round draft pick showcased an undeniable confidence both on and off the ice, leaving a lasting impression on coaches and fellow players.
Lohrei, who gained valuable experience with the Providence Bruins last season, signed his entry-level contract with the Bruins in May.
Determined to secure a spot on the NHL roster, he has been diligently working on his game during the summer months.
Improving speed and agility are at the top of Lohrei's checklist.
"My goal is to enhance my overall game and give myself the best chance to make the big club at training camp," said the ambitious rookie. "I'm focused on quickening my shot, increasing my strength, and becoming more effective on both ends of the ice."
Recognizing the stiff competition on the Bruins' blue line, Lohrei understands the challenge ahead.
With seasoned defensemen like Charlie McAvoy and Hampus Lindholm leading the way, Lohrei aims to prove himself through hard work and dedication.
While a spot on the NHL roster may not come easily, Lohrei remains determined.
"I'm hoping to seize the opportunity when it arises," he expressed. "For now, I'm focused on giving my all every day and making a strong case to be part of the Boston Bruins this season."
As development camp continues and the upcoming training camp looms, all eyes are on Lohrei as he strives to make his mark and realize his NHL dreams.
