Jimmy Murphy of the sick podcast has revealed that the $64 million offer that was sent to goaltender Jeremy Swayman will likely be pulled off the table once the season begins.

It's becoming clear that the Boston Bruins offered him an 8-year term worth $8 million per season which is lower than what Swayman and his agent Lewis Gross are looking for. Numbers around the Internet have been swirling between 6 million per year and 10 million per year.

«They're very likely going to pull that off the table once the season starts,» the source told Sick Podcast News. «When that happens, it will decrease after a certain amount of games and continue to do so as the season progresses.»

This negotiation has been going from bad to worse especially since it has become public. The dispute and stalemate had reached a fever pitch when Bruins president Cam Neely spoke very sternly that he had 64 million reasons why he would be playing hockey.

That comment sparked a firestorm across the web which included Gross and even Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs who appears to be upset with Swayman and his recent comments with Marc Lewis of Savage Sports back in August.

«If you were to ask me that question a year ago, I would answer truthfully and say «it's scary, it's a lot of resentment towards people that want you to succeed. And when you're not being compensated for your endless effortsit's a nerve-racking feeling because it's your family you're fighting for,»

«The answer I'm gonna give you this year, is that I've educated myself, and I understand the business side of it all. It's given me a complete new mindset of understanding the business and how to react to it. I understand the cap is going up and where it will be in years. I understand my comparables and how I can't ruin the goalie market for guys that are gonna be in my shoes down the line. I went to the school of Business for the university of Maine, and I love the business side of it all.»

It remains to be seen on how this will all play out as all sides have inflamed this mess. Given that Swayman is a great goaltender, the possibilities of trade are becoming more apparent as this wears on. The Bruins will need to examine all options even though trading Swayman will likely be the last resort.
