A Boston Bruins insider just revealed that Bruins superstar Jeremy Swayman may be emerging as a trade candidate for the team.

Jeremy Swayman stole the starting position for the Boston Bruins last year during the playoffs, and was set to take over full-time this year for the club.

So far, that has not been the case for the star goaltender.

The Boston Bruins ended up trading Linus Ullmark in the off-season to the Ottawa Senators to clear some cap space after Swayman took over during the playoffs.

The Bruins had a lengthy contract negotiation with Jeremy Swayman in the off-season, and he missed all of training camp due to this.

Just two days before the regular season, the Boston Bruins shocked everyone by announcing they had come to an agreement with Jeremy Swayman and his camp.

The Bruins revealed that they had signed Swayman to a eight-year, $8.25 million deal.

So far, Swayman has not lived up to expectations for the Boston Bruins, and he may be emerging as a trade candidate for the team now going off reports from a Bruins insider.

Jimmy Murphy, a well known Bruins insider took to social media last night and stated that the only really big shake up the Bruins could do cap wise is trading Jeremy Swayman.

Swayman has no trade protection until the 2026-27 season, and honestly Joonas Korpisalo has out played him so far.

Don Sweeney has been open about wanting to make a big move for a top-six winger, and or centre, and many teams are looking for goaltending.

There is a good chance that this doesn't happen like Murphy states, but nothing is ever off the table with Don Sweeney.

As @GlobeKPD pointed out on the @sickpodnhl last Monday, cap-wise, the only real shakeup trade the #NHLBruins could probably make is trading Jeremy Swayman. No trade protection until 2026-27. Five days later, I'm starting to feel like I did heading into Nov. 30, 2005. 👀

*It should be noted that, on Monday, Dupes and I agreed that was highly unlikely.

So far this year Jeremy Swayman has a 5-6-2 record in 13 games with a 3.35 goals against average, and a .888 save percentage.

To say this has been disappointing is an understatement, Swayman was supposed to be "the" goaltender for the Bruins this year and so far has been a let down.

Do you think the Boston Bruins are going to explore trade options for Jeremy Swayman?
