Greer stands at six foot 3 and 210 lbs played for the Bruins last year in 2022-2023 where he played 61 games, scoring five goals with seven assists for 12 points and held 114 penalty minutes. The 27-year-old would certainly boost the bottom 6 for the Bruins especially if Debrusk leaves the team to head to free agency.
He is completing his deal he signed with Sweeney when he played for the Bruins at two years and $1.52 million. With an average cap hit of $762,500, if Sweeney could swing a deal like this again, he would certainly be a bargain especially what he brings to the table.
Many pundits feel that Debrusk may end up leaving his hometown team as the Bruins appear to be ready to move on from him and there are certainly other teams on the market looking for a player of his calibre.
He saw a noticeable dip in his production as he played eighty games this year, scoring 19 goals with 21 assist for 40 points and was a + 4. He was quite productive in the playoffs as he played thirteen games, scoring five goals with six assists for 11 points.
Time will tell on whether Sweeney will make the deal or not but it's likely the Bruins will go through several changes over the course of this offseason.
