The Boston Bruins are in a conundrum, whether they should or move on from Captain Brad Marchand or not.

The parallels are eerily similar to what played out in Tampa Bay with Steven Stamkos, as negotiations were drawn out. Eventually to the point, where Stamkos would have to find a new home in Nashville.

Servalli said that Marchandis a Bruin through and through.

When asked about the possibility of Marchand not being a Bruin next season, hockey insider Frank Seravalli responded emphatically, stating, «I don't see one. This guy is a heart and soul Bruin.»
But is Frank Seravalli correct that Marchand will stay a Boston Bruin after this season?

Marchand has emphatically refused to discuss negotiations in public and shot down NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman.

"I'm not big about talking about contract stuff in the media, but that report from Elliotte is false. Elliotte is just wrong. That's about it."

An opaque situation that even the most knowledgable of us all regarding the league is shut out.

Future Free Agent?

So how should we approach Marchand's situation?

Marchand's production has seen an uptick recently, as he's scored 9 points( 3 G, 6 A) in 12 games.

If Marchand continues to keep his production steady and leadership of the Bruins in line with Don Sweeney's goals, maybe we'll get to see him stay.

Servalli's been sold on his abilities as Captain, taking over from Patrice Bergeron:

«The way that he's grown and matured into that role as leader of that team has been incredibly impressive,» Seravalli said.

The Bruins need Marchand at healthiest after his three-surgeries, so they can run it back to the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Will the Bruins run into Florida again during the playoffs again?
