Brad Marchand has been involved in a lot of controversy throughout his career, but is normally off a play he made while on the ice, not off the ice.

This time, the controversy Marchand is involved in has to do with his status during their series against the Florida Panthers, that has raised some concerns regarding his safety.

Marchand finally spoke to media after being eliminated by the Florida Panthers in game 6, and was asked a bunch of questions about the play that held him out of games 4 and 5 from Sam Bennett.

Marchand didn't throw Bennett under the bus with his response to what happened.

"I think he got away with a shot but I'm not going to complain, sh** happens," said Marchand after Game 6.

This isn't what started the controversy, it's the way he dealt with the team doctors that did. Marchand told reporters that he lied to the team doctors about his health heading into the game stating he basically wasn't ready to play.

"I definitely pushed it getting back. Wouldn't say I was upfront about how I felt," admitted Marchand.

Fans had mixed reactions to this, some were glad to see that Marchand was eager to get back out there and battle with the boys, and others weren't so happy with Marchand's decision to lie to doctors and potentially put his health at risk.
