Despite the scoreboard painting a grim picture, the Boston Bruins suffered a disheartening 3-0 loss to the Washington Capitals at TD Garden.

The defeat left the Bruins grappling with feelings of frustration and disappointment, prompting head coach Jim Montgomery to issue a stern rebuke.

However, amidst the gloom, veteran forward Brad Marchand remained steadfast, refusing to succumb to panic.

Marchand emphasized the importance of maintaining composure and focusing on the task at hand, urging his teammates to rediscover their winning form in the upcoming games.

«It's not concerning,» Marchand told reporters. «You don't want to see it happen, but it's not concerning.»

«We just got to get back to the consistency we had last little bit. Back to our game again in the next one,» Marchand added.

Acknowledging the need for improvement, Marchand underscored the resilience of a strong team, emphasizing the importance of regrouping and learning from setbacks. Despite the recent setbacks, Marchand remained resolute in his belief in the Bruins' ability to bounce back.

«There are the games that you're gonna have to be able to find a way to win going down the stretch and in the playoffs," Marchand said. "You have to expect everyone's best and always gotta take it on yourself, a little bit of ownership to try and be a difference out there and try to turn the tide and the momentum. We didn't have that tonight.»

As the Bruins prepare to face off against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Marchand's words serve as a rallying cry for the team to rediscover their winning ways and reaffirm their status as contenders in the Atlantic Division.
