The Boston Bruins continue to make history this season, as they broke a longtime franchise record with a gutsy win over the Hurricanes on Sunday.
Without key players in Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, Hampus Lindholm, Taylor Hall, Derek Forbort and Nick Foligno, the Bruins squeezed out a 4-3 shootout win.
Feeling Like it's 1972!
With a 4-3 shootout win in Raleigh last night, the Bruins broke a previous team record set by the 1971-72 club that recorded 26 road wins.
According to NHL Public Relations, they also tied the franchise record for wins:
Boston's 57 wins matched the 1970-71 season for the most in franchise history, while its 27 road victories surpassed the 1971-72 campaign (26) for the club record.
Boston is also still on pace to set to surpass league records for wins (62) and points (132) in a season.
Will they do it?
