Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney just revealed that more changes are set to be made to the coaching staff after firing Jim Montgomery.

Yesterday the Boston Bruins canceled their practice, and many were left wondering why, and an answer wasn't revealed to later that evening.

The reason was due to the Boston Bruins firing head coach Jim Montgomery.

Don Sweeney has been very open about wanting to make a change with how the 2024-25 season has been going.

Yesterday he finally made a big one, even though many felt like Montgomery was not the problem with the Boston Bruins.

Now, Sweeney has revealed that more changes could be coming to the coaching staff moving forward.

Today, Don Sweeney addressed the media after firing Jim Montgomery yesterday.

He revealed that the Bruins staff will stay the same for right now, but he may bring in someone to compliment the group going forward.

Here is what he had to say:

Sweeney on the coaching group going forward:

"Sacco is well equipped to lead this group... his staff will be as it is for right now, but I don't rule out that we won't bring in somebody to compliment this group."

The Boston Bruins currently have a record of 8-9-3, and that's somehow good enough for 4th place in the Atlantic.

But they have the Ottawa Senators right behind them with a record of 8-8-1, just two points behind the Bruins with three games in hand.

As of now the Bruins are not sitting in a playoff spot as they are tied with the New York Islanders for points, but the Islanders have one game in hand on the Bruins.

A change was definitely needed in the Bruins organization, but fans feel like the Bruins decided to make the wrong change.

Montgomery had a 120-41-23 record with the Boston Bruins, and this is the second head coach in 8-years they have gone through.

Many believed that upper management should have been fired rather than Jim Montgomery.
