With news of Jim Montgomery being on the hot seat for the Boston Bruins, it appears no one is safe.

Jeremy Swayman has had eyes
fixated on his lackluster performance. It's well known, he's a well-paid goalie but isn't performing up to his true potential.

Swayman's played 14 games for the Bruins this season, with a 5-7-2 record, and 1 shutout. He's got a 3.47 GAA and a .884 save percentage.

For someone who signed a big contract recently, he's looked like a shell of his former self.

According to The Athletic's Fluto Shinzawa, his holdout may have earned him some friction in the locker room.

Shinzawa writes that the goaltender needs to clean up his game and prove to his teammates that he was right to hold out. «If Swayman continues to take backward steps, he will not have many friends left in the dressing room.»

Swayman elaborated on his feelings about his play to Shinzawa recently.

«I think I've had enough time now to adapt and get back to things I think the biggest thing that I lost out on was this group. I'm really trying to engulf just being in the room again and being a leader. I want my play to speak for that. So I need to step up. That's exactly what I'm going to do.»

It appears that cracks and crevices forming in the foundation of the Bruins team, and it doesn't originate from Jim Montgomery alone, you could also lay blame on Swayman as well.

Swayman signed a $8.25 Million AAV, $66 Million deal after training camp had begun. His holdout may have hindered his regular season success, as he missed vital reps in the net. Leading to the devastating regular-season start the Bruins have had.

Now, it will be up to Jeremy Swayman and Bob Essensa to fill in the cracks of his inconsistent play this season. In order to earn the trust of Sweeney and the locker room he'll have to return to the play which earned him a William Jennings Trophy.

And with news of contention in the locker room, has Jeremy Swayman made himself available for trade without intentionally doing so?

Who could trade for a goalie whose cap space eats up 9.38% of the team's available space? His contract as it is could be moveable, but there'd be a lot of legwork involved.

Could Sweeney end up dealing Jeremy Swayman down the line should he not perform up to expectations? He seems to have lost his teammate's trust already according to Shinzawa.
