Prior to the game against the Vancouver Canucks, former Boston Bruins forward was benched by head coach Luke Richardson.

Hall was traded to the Blackhawks in exchange for Alec Regula, and Ian Mitchell and has had a difficult time making it work.

He's a few seasons removed from his 60-point year in Boston under Bruce Cassidy and didn't seem to take his benching in Chicago with poise.

"I was surprised by it," admitted Hall on Monday. " It was unexpected from the standpoint of I just didn't know I was even close to being in that spot, really."

The benching was on the cusp of the Blackhawks' loss to the Seattle Kraken after Hall played on 13:23 TOI, with 1 shot on goal in 15 shifts.

Instead of understanding the reason why he was benched, he lashed out and would not learn the message why, it seems.

"If there were some conversations in the days leading up about my game or if I was constantly being shown video it would be one thing, but I was a bit surprised," said Hall.

Even then fans in Chicago are sympathetic to the forward's response to Luke Richardson's benching.

Are they correct that Richardson has worn out his welcome in Chicago?

It looks as if Luke Richardson has lost the Blackhawks locker room, as they're currently 6-11-1 and 8th in the Central Division.

Was Taylor Hall correct to throw his Head Coach under the bus? Hall has played 17 games and scored 6 points( 2 G, 4 A) and a -5 in 2024-2025.
