In a triumphant match, the Boston Bruins secured their second win of the season against the Nashville Predators at TD Garden. The victory was largely attributed to an exceptional defensive performance that drew immense support from the fans.

Despite the Predators having eight power-play opportunities in the first two periods, the Bruins successfully killed seven of them. Nashville did score once, but the Bruins retaliated with a power-play goal of their own in the following period. Head coach Jim Montgomery credited this penalty kill prowess for building momentum.

Montgomery stated,

"We're gaining tremendous momentum. Our knowledgeable fans recognized the remarkable effort, blocked shots, and crucial saves made by our top penalty killer, Jeremy Swayman. The ovation at the end of one of those kills significantly elevated our bench."

While accumulating penalties isn't a winning strategy, the Bruins' ability to overcome adversity early in the season was a valuable lesson and testament to their resilience.

James van Riemsdyk scored his first two goals as a Bruin, bringing his career total to 302 goals, adding a valuable dimension to the team's power-play unit.

Trent Frederic celebrated his 200th game on the ice, and David Pastrnak's successful penalty shot marked a significant moment for the Bruins.
