With the off-season coming up, Don Sweeney is said not to shy away from making moves to make the team better.
And Lysell could end up being a bargaining chip for the Bruins to acquire an impact player.
Since they don't have a 1st round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft and they don't have a 2nd round pick in the 2025 draft.
If the team wants to remain contenders, much like the Edmonton Oilers they're going to have to give up a high-end prospect, like Lysell.
He was already considered a trade chip at the deadline, but as nothing happened Sweeney could revisit.
Lysell was selected with the Bruins in the 1st round of the 2021 NHL entry draft and could develop into a top-six winger.
He could yield interest from rebuilding teams, as they have assets to move, and teams who have high-end talent, but aren't cup-contending could move a top player for Lysell if the price is right.
In 56 games in AHL Providence, Lysell has 50 points( 15 G, 35 A) and was on a hot streak in February posting eight points in 5 games.
It may be a risk Sweeney will have to take to improve a busted roster and a lack of center depth.
