Don Sweeney has confirmed Jake DeBrusk's fate with the Boston Bruins and fans aren't happy.
Don Sweeney yesterday spoke on Jake DeBrusk's future with the Boston Bruins which ended sparking mixed emotions from fans.
Don Sweeney told reporters that they are taking an aggressive position in contract talks with DeBrusk, hinting that they do see a path for him to stay with the Bruins, but not everything is guaranteed.
Sweeney did open up during the team's exit interviews and say that they would prefer to keep Jake DeBrusk around, but other opportunities could pop up for him that would be better and he might want to explore.
«We took an aggressive position with JakeDo I see a path? Yes I see a path. I told him that at our exitsI would prefer to have Jake DrBrusk on our team, but there may be some opportunities he explores otherwise.»
Bruins fans weren't too happy with this as they hope that Jake DeBrusk stays around, he has become a beloved figure in the city of Boston.
Even though a couple years ago he requested a trade, he has since made it clear that he would like to continue playing for the Boston Bruins.
