Don Sweeney reveals the first signing of the off-season

Today the Boston Bruins held their end of year press conference and Don Sweeney revealed who will be at the top of their priority list.

Don Sweeney mentioned that the Bruins have been trying to negotiate a contract extension with the Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman, stating that it will continue to be a priority for the Bruins until they get a deal done.

Sweeney on Swayman contract extension: "That's clearly a priority...We've communicated during the regular season on a longer term extension, but we haven't gotten there yet. It will continue to be a priority until we get to the finish line."

Don Sweeney also brought up that the Bruins didn't take Jeremy Swayman to arbitration last summer, but Swayman ended up taking the Bruins to arbitration.

Sweeney noted that Swayman took the Bruins to arbitration last summer and not the other way around.

Jeremy Swayman is no doubt the future of the Bruins, stealing the starting role for the Bruins in the playoffs appearing in 12 out of 13 games. It will be interesting to see what Swayman's contract looks like when finalized.
