Yesterday the Boston Bruins completed a shocking roster move.
After finally snapping their six game losing streak to the Florida Panthers on Saturday, the Boston Bruins made some changes to the teams roster as they just placed Marc McLaughlin on the waiver wire.
PuckPedia confirmed it on X revealing that the Boston Bruins had placed 25-year-old Marc McLaughlin on the waiver wire.
From PuckPedia:
As it's past the 2 p.m. ET deadline for teams to claim players off of the waiver wire, Elliotte Friedman just confirmed McLaughlin's fate.
It was revealed that both Marc McLaughlin and Brannstrom from yesterday have cleared waivers and will be reassigned to their teams affiliates.
Marc McLaughlin has been healthy scratched by the Bruins a lot this year but has appeared in 12 games, and has 2 goals along with a minus-1 on the season.
Many believed that this move was being made because the Bruins were set to recall someone else up from the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League, and the Bruins did exactly that this morning.
This morning the Boston Bruins announced that they have recalled Vinnie Lettieri from the Providence Bruins, and McLaughlin will now report back to Providence.
The Bruins are still going to be without Mark Kastelic when they play the Tampa Bay Lightning tomorrow in their rematch after an announcement from head coach Joe Sacco.
