The Boston Bruins got some terrible news today from interim head coach Joe Sacco regarding Bruins fan favourite Mark Kastelic.
Mark Kastelic missed his second practice today with the Boston Bruins, and following the morning skate, Boston Bruins head coach spoke with the media regarding Mark Kastelic's status.
According to interim head coach Joe Sacco Mark Kastelic will not be playing in the Bruins rematch against the Tampa Bay Lightning tomorrow and he is still being considered as day-to-day.
Kastelic suffered his injury in the dying seconds of their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning after receiving a cross-check to the face from Emil Lilleberg, and then had his head smashed off of the ice following a fight with Lilleberg.
Many believed that there was going to be a hearing for Lilleberg's unsportsmanlike conduct, especially considering Lilleberg was handed two majors, one for fighting, and one for the original cross-check, along with a game misconduct, but the league did nothing about it.
Mark Kastelic was visibly shaken up after the cross-check and banging his head off of the ice, and required some assistance from defenseman Parker Wotherspoon to get to the bench.
This is a big loss for the Bruins as Kastelic brings grit to the Bruins lineup every night, and they are definitely going to miss him out there in their rematch with the Lightning.
