Elliotte Friedman may have just revealed the Boston Bruins next head coach
Could the Boston Bruins find a new Head Coach by April? If so, could David Carle find a new home with the Bruins?
David Carle is the coach who led Team USA to two IIHF World Junior Championships, last season, and in 2025.
There was speculation that the Chicago Blackhawks could be next to try and hire him after the Anders Sorensen experiment isn't going so well.
But with Joe Sacco's latest slump, could the Bruins seriously be considering the Denver Pioneers coach?
According to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, it's not a far-fetched idea.
Ironically Carle has connections to the Bruins via Jim Montgomery:
He was Jim Montgomery's assistant coach in Denver when they won the NCAA Championship in 2017, a team featuring Ducks All-Star forward Troy Terry.
"He deserves all the buzz. I used to do one-on-one skill sessions with him when I was 12 years old, so I've known him forever and he's a great human being," Terry said. "He's someone I look up to as a person. This isn't the only time that Carle has received interest from NHL clubs according to Friedman.
It's natural to speculate on when, not if, Carle will make the jump to coach in the NHL. Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reported on his "32 Thoughts" podcast that Carle received some inquiries from NHL teams after the 2023-24 season.
Carle has a record of 165-67-16 and two World Junior Championships with Team USA to his name.
He'll be a highly coveted candidate to coach the NHL, whenever he decides to make the jump.
And the Bruins would benefit from making a call to Carle, to see where he sees his career taking him next.
