Heading into their game against the Florida Panthers, the Boston Bruins were riding a six game losing streak, and their power play had been struggling.
The Boston Bruins were able to snap their six game winless streak by beating the Florida Panthers 4-3 in overtime, and even got a couple of power play goals, one from David Pastrnak and the other from Morgan Geekie.
David Pastrnak played hero for the Boston Bruins in overtime, scoring the game winning goal on the power play with just 1.2 seconds remaining in overtime.
And this goal was an interesting one, as he tried to make a pass through the middle of the ice to Elias Lindholm, but his pass was deflected by Florida Panthers star Sam Reinhart, and floated into the back of the net beating Bobrovsky.
David Pastrnak's 19th goal of the year, and game winner broke a Boston Bruins franchise record. According to the NHL Public Relations, his second goal of the game is now the latest overtime winner in Boston Bruins history.
Former Boston Bruin Mike Knuble had previously held the record when he scored at the 4:56 mark in overtime back on March 13th in 2004, when the Boston Bruins were taking on the Buffalo Sabres.
David Pastrnak is now up to 19 goals, 26 assists for 45 points, in 45 games this year.
Pastrnak is also starting to heat up for the Bruins, he was on pace to only score 30 goals this year, but has six goals and an assist in his last five games.
The Boston Bruins are going to need David Pastrnak to continue playing like this the rest of the year if they are going to want to make it to the playoffs.
