Former Boston Bruins wingerChris Wagner's career has hit an all-time low, as he's been placed on waivers by the Colorado Avalanche.

If he clears waivers he will be assigned to the AHL's Colorado Eagles. A place where he's found himself earlier this season.

Last season Wagner played 21 games in the AHL with the Eagles, scoring 14 points( 8 G, 6 A). He'd only play 13 games in the NHL with the Avalanche, unable to crack the full-time lineup, scoring 2 points( 1 G, 1 A).

Now he'll have to work his way up the depth chart with the team's recent move.

The last time he suited up for the Bruins was in 2022-2023, playing 1 game for the team. He was originally signed by the Bruins in 2019 where they'd extend him for 3 years.

In 2018-19, Wagner was the recipient of NESN's 7th Player Award as the player who exceeded the expectations of Bruins fans after a career-best season in which he tallied a career-high 12 goals and seven assists for 19 points with a plus-three rating in 76 games. The 6-foot, 198-pound forward also led the Bruins and ranked 11th in the NHL with 247 hits.

He joined veteran Devin Shore of the Wild, and Justin Dowling of the Devils on the waiver wire.

Wagner was a hometown favorite for many Bruins fans and is a Walpole, Massachusetts native who was drafted 122nd overall in the fifth round of the 2010 NHL draft by the Anaheim Ducks.

If teams need gritty depth they could acquire Wagner for an affordable league minimum cap hit of $775K.

Wagner played five seasons with the Bruins, where he became a fan favorite because of his work ethic and tenacious style of play. In 186 games as a Bruin, he had 20 goals, 34 points, and 531 hits.
