The Chicago Blackhawks have confirmed that they have officially traded former Boston Bruins fan favourite Taylor Hall to the Carolina Hurricanes last night in a three-team blockbuster trade.
The trade involved Colorado Avalanche's superstar Mikko Rantanen getting traded to the Carolina Hurricanes as well.
Blackhawks fans were surprised to find out that Taylor Hall was healthy scratched ahead of their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning last night, little did they know it was because he was about to be traded.
This blockbuster trade saw the Carolina Hurricanes acquire both Taylor Hall and Mikko Rantanen, while the Blackhawks used their cap space to be involved in the trade as well.
NHL insider from the Daily Faceoff Frank Seravalli revealed that the Carolina Hurricanes sent Martin Necas and Jack Drury, along with a 2025 2nd-round pick and a 2026 4th-round pick to the Colorado Avalanche.
Surprisingly for the Blackhawks, they traded Taylor Hall, and retained half of Rantanen's salary in the trade but only got a third-round pick back.
The Boston Bruins have been linked to Taylor Hall a lot this year, and many believed a reunion could be in the cards, but now that is officially off the table.
