A former draft pick of the Boston Bruins, Anders Bjork has finally found a home in the AHL. Bjork has signed with the Milwaukee Admirals.

The Nashville Predators AHL affiliate, the Admirals have decided to give Bjork another chance.

Bjork played in the AHL last season with the Rockford IceHogs, playing only 40 games and scoring 27 points ( 10 G, 17 A ).

The former 5th draft pick has been unable to crack a full-time job since his first season with the NHL. In 2017-2018 with the Bruins, he'd only play 30 games and scored 12 points ( 4 G, 8 A ) and would jump from the AHL and NHL consistently.

Anders Bjork signed a professional tryout contract with the Milwaukee Admirals - the AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators - on Sunday, the team announced. The forward was selected by the Bruins in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

A 2017 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, Bjork spent time playing on the top line with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. He underwent left shoulder surgery in 2018 and right shoulder surgery in 2024.

Bjork would later be sent to the Buffalo Sabres for Taylor Hall in 2021 and would end up only play 74 games with the Sabres in three seasons.

Could Bjork find his way back into the NHL through the minors? It was in 2023 the Blackhawks refused to give him a qualifying offer, and would instead see him sign in the minors with the Rockford iceHogs.

The Blackhawks acquired Bjork from Buffalo before the trade deadline last season and I really liked what I saw from the veteran forward before injuries limited his play down the stretch. He still produced two goals and six assists in just 13 games after being acquired by Chicago.

He could end up being another forward who was a victim of poor development, or deployment in the NHL as he couldn't even crack the lineup in Chicago, during one of their worst seasons in 2023-2024.

He'll have to prove himself to GM Barry Trotz that he's worthy of a shot at a full-time gig through hustle and bustle with the Admirals.

In the meantime, the Bruins did quite well with Taylor Hall and would utilize him to fill the pipeline in Providence, which is thin on prospects and talent at the moment.
