Some game changing injury news has surfaced today revealing the Detroit Red Wings will be without Patrick Kane against the Boston Bruins tonight.

An announcement was made this morning that will change things for the Red Wings as they prepare to take on the Boston Bruins tonight.

This morning it was announced that the Detroit Red Wings have placed star winger Patrick Kane on Injury Reserved with a retroactive date.

The Detroit Red Wings have been struggling this season after just barley missing the playoffs last season, and now things are getting worse for them after losing Patrick Kane.

The last time Kane played for the Red Wings was on November 23rd, the first time the Bruins played them this year, and he is apparently dealing with a upper-body injury.

Although Patrick Kane is showing signs of slowing down, he is still an important piece and is still dangerous for the Red Wings even though his stats this year may not reflect that.

In 20 games this year for the Detroit Red Wings the 36-year-old has three goals, and seven assists for 10 points.

It's clear that his age and injury problems over the years are starting to catch up to him.

The Bruins on the other hand have dealt with their own injury problems and will once again not have Hampus Lindholm in their lineup for tonight's game as head coach Joe Sacco told reporters that he is still weeks away from returning to the Bruins lineup.
