Insider reported Jeremy Swayman set to reject Boston Bruins offer?
Things are not looking good for the Boston Bruins, and Jeremy Swayman, and from what a NHL insider just reported, things may be taking a bad turn.
This morning, trusted NHL insider Elliotte Friedman gave an update regarding Jeremy Swayman's situation with the Boston Bruins on his 32 Thoughts Podcast, and revealed that there is a good chance Jeremy Swayman rejects the Boston Bruins latest offer.
Lewis Gross called the Boston Bruins liars on social media, after the Bruins most recent press conference where president Cam Neely revealed that the Boston Bruins have offered Jeremy Swayman a $64 million contract.
Elliotte Friedman also revealed that Jeremy Swayman may still be asking for more then $8 million.
Friedman added: «My opinion is he's around 9, high 8's. That is purely my opinion based on everything I've heard over the last day.»
If this is true the Boston Bruins and Jeremy Swayman's camp are roughly $500,000-$1 million off at this time. But if what Friedman has reported about Jeremy Swayman's demands are true, he is looking to become one of the highest paid players behind David Pastrnak, and Charlie McAvoy.
Friedman was also the one who suggested that following Cam Neely going public about the contract offer, there may be a good chance that Jeremy Swayman requests a trade from the Boston Bruins.
This has sparked a lot of trade rumours on social media.
The clock is ticking for the Boston Bruins as they have until December 1st to get a deal done or else Jeremy Swayman will not be allowed to play in the 2024-25 season or the playoffs.
