According to NHL Insider Kevin Weekes, the Boston Bruins may be selling at the trade deadline, or during the offseason.

Who's on the trade block? Weekes has mentioned that several teams are interested in pursuing a key piece in the Bruins lineup.

Power-forward Trent Frederic has taken a leap forward under the leadership of Jim Montgomery. He could be the next Bruins forward to be dealt for prospects, assets, or an NHLer.

But given Don Sweeney's track record, he hasn't gotten the best returns for his forwards. He's let players like Tyler Bertuzzi, Taylor Hall, Jake DeBrusk, and Danton Heinen leave the organization for a bag of pucks.

Well, that's not necessarily true, he got Ian Mitchell, and Alec Regula for Hall and Nick Foligno. That's something!

I love trading 60-point wingers for AHL defensemen!

On Saturday night, Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney was a visitor at the St. Louis Blues-Toronto Maple Leafs game on St. Louis. Trent Frederic happens to be a native of St. Louis and might have an interest in signing with his hometown team this summer. Sweeney is also heading up Team Canada for the upcoming Four Nations tournament in February and could be scouting players for the Canadian roster. It does, however, look very coincidental that Sweeney is in St. Louis, especially after a report from hockey analyst Kevin Weekes that stated that Frederic was drawing interest around the league.

Frederic had a career-year in 2023-2024 which saw him score 40 points( 18 G, 22 A) under Montgomery. He's been a fixture in the top-six the last few years and could thrive in a new environment.

Could Freddy be headed to Columbus, Winnipeg, or St. Louis?

It'll be interesting to see what kind of assets Sweeney could get for "Freddy Fight Club". Maybe he can get a Zamboni, a bag of pucks, and Shea Weber's contract.
