The Boston Bruins are in the inevitable position to confront their weaknesses as a group. They've been unable to play up to expectations this season, and have been one of the most penalized teams in the NHL.

This is one of many topics Brad Marchand and Charlie McAvoy will have to confront in a player's only meeting.

According to McAvoy, this will take place very soon.

This will be a great moment, as the team recently signed Tyler Johnson to a one-year deal. He will be taking part in a team building exercise, while learning of the teams struggles if he hasn't been subject to the horrors lately watching from the sidelines.

Things haven't gone as planned through the first 13 games for the Black and Gold and a lot of their struggles can be pointed to a number of things. Their fourth line has been their best line, but sooner or later, you knew that coach Jim Montgomery was going to make some changes to his lineup. Monday, the Bruins signed veteran forward Tyler Johnson which needed a corresponding move to be needed and that happened on Tuesday afternoon.

In the meantime, the Bruins will have to find a way to gel as they should as one unit. There's been a lack of accountability, as Nikita Zadarov has been taking too many penalties lately, and so has David Pastrnak.

The list of issues at this point is a whose-who, what's what or what needs to be addressed.

McAvoy and Marchand will need to set the kind of standards in Boston that others have set elsewhere.

Not saying they're perfect by any means, but the Blackhawks' own Nick Foligno has a clear goal for the Hawks each and every game. He has a standard that every guy buys into.

It's time for the Bruins to enforce their own standards from within, and that means accountability to one another.

This could be a turning point for the B's and let's hope after this they'll be more than just a sub .500 team.
