A couple of massive takeaways from yet another embarrassing loss by the Boston Bruins against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Boston Bruins couldn't keep their winning streak going, dropping Tuesday's game to the Toronto Maple Leafs, 4-0, at Scotiabank Arena.

This loss put the Bruins at 6-7-1 for the season, while the Leafs, missing star Auston Matthews, improved to 7-5-2. The Bruins struggled to find any offensive rhythm and didn't help their cause by taking two costly penalties in the second period, leading to a quick 2-0 lead for Toronto. Despite four power-play chances, Boston couldn't get on the board.

Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman kept it close through two periods, but the Bruins couldn't capitalize on a comeback opportunity in the third. Even with six power-play chances in total, they came up short each time, while Toronto took advantage, scoring three of their four goals with the man advantage.

The Bruins power play needs to be looked at, they currently are ranked 25th in the league with a 14.8 power play percentage. The Bruins should have a much better power play then what they do considering the players they have on the ice.

Swayman made 22 saves on 25 shots, putting up a good effort that was unfortunately overshadowed. Toronto goalie Anthony Stolarz was perfect, stopping all 29 of Boston's shots, adding to the Bruins' frustrations. This loss marks Boston's third shutout in eight games and drops their road record to 2-4-1.

The Bruins aim to bounce back Thursday when they face the Calgary Flames at home at TD Garden, with puck drop at 7 p.m. ET, airing live on NESN.
