An NHL insider has revealed what Tyler Bertuzzi's next contract will more than likely look like and what the Boston Bruins will have to pay to re-acquire him if they want to go down that road.
Tyler Bertuzzi left Boston in free agency last year signing a one-year deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs at a $5.5 million cap hit. The Maple Leafs have expressed interest in bringing back Bertuzzi, but ultimately he has the final say.
Pierre Lebrun reported that Bertuzzi's next contract could be somewhere between $5-6 million on a long term deal.
Bertuzzi was pretty valuable for the Bruins during his time and performed for them in the playoffs. With Cam Neely expressing that the Bruins need to get faster, Bertuzzi is the type of guy you look for who also brings grit and experience to the locker room.
The Boston Bruins have a lot of options heading into free agency and the off-season and fans are excited to see what Don Sweeney does to better the team for next year, where they hopefully can make a run for another Stanley Cup.
