Last night, as the Boston Bruins were taking on the New York Islanders, a scary accident happened involving Bruins Matt Poitras that left fans speechless.

Poitras was circling around the New York Islanders bench, heading back to his own for a change, when New York Islanders forward Brock Nelson shoved him into the boards.
For some reason, the Islanders backup goaltender decided to open the door to the Islanders bench while Nelson was checking Poitras.
This caused Poitras to awkwardly collide into the open door, and was left there in pain.
Poitras would end up leaving the game, and later on the Boston Bruins revealed that he was not likely to return to the game.
UPDATE: Matt Poitras (lower-body) is unlikely to return to tonight's game.
