Jim Montgomery, the head coach of the Boston Bruins called out youngster Fabian Lysell moments before their game against the Washington Capitals tonight.

Preseason has begun for the Boston Bruins as they already played a game against the New York Rangers last Sunday, and ended up losing it 3-2.

Fabian Lysell was on the roster for the first preseason game of the year, but was disappointing to say the least as he did not look good, and that did not go unnoticed by the Boston Bruins and head coach Jim Montgomery.

Jim Montgomery had some strong words for the young forward before tonight's game against the Washington Capitals.

Montgomery on Lysell: «He needs to do a little more than he's done if he wants to make the Bruins.»

Adds that's true of most guys who played the first preseason game.

Boston Bruins fans were trying to defend Lysell by saying that the Bruins should put him will actual NHLer's to see what he can do, but if he can't provide offence or at least look good out there by himself, and has to be carried by NHL players, what good is that for the Boston Bruins?

There was a lot of talks, and hype going into this training camp surronding Fabian Lysell, and even though we are only one game in, it's been disappointing to say the least.

Many thought Lysell was going to compete for the second line right wing position that is available due to Jake DeBrusk leaving, but right now it doesn't seem like he's in that conversation.

Lysell is getting a fair shot to crack the Boston Bruins roster, but he has to earn the spot, it's not going to just be handed to him on a silver platter.
