The Boston Bruins went out and signed Elias Lindholm in free agency to a massive seven-year $7,750,000 deal with the Boston Bruins.
According to PuckPedia the contract that Lindholm signed has a no-trade clause for the first five years, and the remaining two years is a modified no-trade clause.
Jim Montgomery spoke to the media this morning before the Boston Bruins skate, and told reporters that Elias Lindholm is now considered week-to-week.
This is a big loss for the Bruins. During the first day of training camp the Bruins threw Elias Lindholm with David Pastrank, and Pavel Zacha to try and build chemistry, as this is more than likely going to be their first line, but they haven't been able to play together much as Lindholm has not skated since that day after suffering an injury.
The Boston Bruins see Elias Lindholm as a replacement to Patrice Bergeron, who decided to call it a career after their historic season in 2023-24. Lindholm plays a similar 200-foot game that Bergeron did, and can put up similar points. Although last year was a down year, in 2021-22 Elias Lindholm set a career high in points with 42 goals, and 40 assists, for 82 points in 82 games.
The Boston Bruins are hoping that Lindholm can return to that form this year playing along side David Pastrnak.
