The skate was optional, and during the Sunday skate, Jim Montgomery decided to hold an interview.
He would be asked about the upcoming match-up against the rival Florida Panthers, whom the Bruins lost to for the season opener.
With Korpisalo in net, the total was 6-4, and Montgomery wasn't happy with how the game went.
He felt that the Bruins were far too easy to get emotional and players like Nikita Zadarov, and Trent Frederic were baited into penalties.
That would give the Panthers a man advantage. This would happen 3 times in the 1st period, as Mark Kastelic would be another player who took a penalty for fighting bottom-six grinder, A.J. Greer.
He felt that the team was all-around slow against the Panthers, and the team wasn't good on face-offs against the Panthers as well.
The Bruins will play against their rivals once more, at 1 PM on Monday, in what is really an earlier game on a weekday.
A puzzling start time for an NHL game, but it's 2024 and I guess Gary Bettman feels that we need this kind of shake-up.
Either way, the Bruins have to stay out of the box, score by committee, and be more intense with the puck, and shut down the Panthers, as Paul Maurice and Matthew Tkachuk seem to have the Bruins number.
In the last 20 games against the Panthers, the team is 10-9-1, and will need to improve to stay a float in the Atlantic Division, and possibly the playoffs, should the Bruins find themselves there, once again.
