Brad Marchand is the kind of player, who either you love or hate. He's been the subject of many controversies of his own making.

Including the incident, where he'd lick Ryan Callahan, and needless to say even the NHLPA recognizes the contradiction of the hate/love relationship we all have with him.

Marchand is a multi-time winner of the «Which player do you least enjoy playing against, but would like to have on your team?» recognition in the annual NHLPA survey. Ryan Callahan got licked by the guy. Pat Maroon hated him, but grew to love the four-time All-Star when they eventually became teammates.

While the Bruins have had many star players walk through its doors, none of them has arguably quite left the impression as Brad Marchand has.

When comes to 100 Legends Way, he may be smaller in stature, but his presence on the ice is that of a titan, whom his competitors have to deal with. Elias Lindholm joined the Bruins during the offseason, and playing on the same team as Marchand has left a positive impression upon him.

«He's had a really good career,» Bruins newcomer Elias Lindholm said following Saturday's win over the Los Angeles Kings. «He's one of the biggest competitors I've seen, practice, games, whatever. It's huge for people to see that. He wears the C' for a reason, and I couldn't think of a better guy to do it.»

What do you think about Marchand?

It's debatable whether you love or hate him, depending upon which reason. But he's seen his evolution grow from a bottom-six forward into a top-six threat.

He's had one Stanley Cup to his name and has been nominated as an NHL All-Star six times during his career.

He's had two gold-winning tournaments with Team Canada, in 2007 and 2008 in IIHF play.

And his entire career has been spent with the Bruins wearing the spoked B. By all intents and purposes he could be considered a unicorn of hockey players, as not many players have had the chance to play with their teams as long as Marchand has.

Marchand has played 1,032 NHL games, scoring 931 points( 401 G, 530 A) and doesn't plan on stopping any time soon.
