The Boston Bruins are well aware of their formidable goalie tandem, and head coach Jim Montgomery hinted at a similar approach to last season.

Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman shared playing time during the regular season, a strategy that earned them the Williams J. Jennings Trophy. Ullmark also claimed the Vezina Trophy with 49 games played.

Swayman will start against the Nashville Predators, and Montgomery shed light on how they plan to manage the goalies' workload.

"I can't say we plan to go every other, but it's the strength of our team," Montgomery told reporters. "Especially when the schedule gets busy, probably going every other. They give us a great chance to win every night, so we want to keep them fresh."

When asked about starting Ullmark back-to-back, Montgomery explained,

"No, because then it's almost two weeks before Swayman gets a start. After this break, we don't have many long breaks."

Following Saturday's game, the Bruins have a four-day break before their first back-to-back set of games next week.

The primary concern for the goalie duo is their performance in the playoffs. While it raised questions after Boston's first-round exit last season, it hasn't affected their mindset this season.

Montgomery commented,

"I can't say I've seen a change in mindset from last season. All of us didn't achieve what we wanted to last year. We all have a bit to prove, right?"

Ullmark and Swayman have every motivation to demonstrate their elite capabilities and show they're not just regular-season contributors. Their journey will unfold over the course of the season.
