The Boston Bruins have been having a goaltending dilemma this year, after Jeremy Swayman has not been able to live up to his contract after signing a massive 8-year, $8.25 million deal with the Boston Bruins just days before the start of the regular season.
So far this season Jeremy Swayman has appeared in 15 games for the Boston Bruins, and his numbers have not been good. He has a record of 6-7-2 with a 3.30 goals against average and a .887 save percentage.
Despite this, it looks like Joe Sacco has some belief in him still as he announced that Jeremy Swayman will get his second start in a row against the Vancouver Canucks tonight.
Joe Sacco did state that the Boston Bruins are going to be taking it day by day after tonight, and depending on how Jeremy Swayman performs, he could lose his "starting position" role.
Joonas Korpisalo has been great for the Boston Bruins after being acquired in a trade with the Ottawa Senators. In 8 games this year he has a record of 4-2-1 with a 2.38 goals against average, and a .911 save percentage.
It's safe to say that even though Korpisalo has played less games then Jeremy Swayman, he has been the most consistent and better goaltender.
Joe Sacco made it clear that he was going to start the goalie that deserves it, and honestly in my own opinion Joonas Korpisalo has deserved this opportunity more then Jeremy Swayman has.
The Boston Bruins have found a way to stay a perfect 2-0 under Joe Sacco, but they haven't played extremely good teams yet.
