The Boston Bruins are thin down the middle, as they only have Elias Lindholm as a top-six center.

While Charlie Coyle and Pavel Zacha are serviceable forwards, they're unable to handle the duties, of someone like Patrice Bergeron a true 1C. This inevitably means that Don Sweeney will dip into his pockets and work the market to see who he can acquire.

There's been speculation that the Bruins are in the market for Trevor Zegras, but there are also other centers who could be potential additions to the Boston Bruins.

Let's cover three top-six centers that'd be impactful for the Bruins.

Trevor Zegras

The Anaheim Ducks were rumored to move Trevor Zegras during the offseason, as the discussion of a fresh start elsewhere continues. The 23-year-old's production has declined recently, as his sophomore season saw him score 61 points in 75 games in 2021-2022. Since then it has been a perpetual decline, and injuries haven't helped his cause.

In 19 games this season, he's scored a total of 7 points( 2 G, 5 A) with the Ducks and could use a change of scenery. Even better he could find his game again before he's moved, as he's scored 4 points in the last four games.

The 2019 ninth overall pick has produced like a star in the past, would acquiring Zegras who obviously won't be cheap worth it? Can Joe Sacco turn him into a Bruin?

Brock Nelson is another center who has been in trade talks recently, the Islanders roster is wrought with injuries. While the team is 8-8-5 it seems like Lou Lamoriello should make use of his current assets to kickstart a rebuild. But will he? The first step in turning around the Islanders' fortunes could be to move former 37-goal scorer, Nelson.

He's in the final year of his contract with the Isles and has kept his production consistent scoring 13 points(8 G, 5 A) in 21 games.

He also has scored at least 34 goals in each of the last three seasons and had 69 points this past season.

Nelson would be considered a rental, as his current AAV is $6 Million, and his contract expires at the end of the season.

Granlund has turned his game around with the San Jose Sharks, as he's tallied 24 points( 9 G, 15 A) in 23 games.

Last season he scored 60 points( 12 G, 48 A) in 69 games with the rebuilding club after arriving from Pittsburgh.

The Finnish center could provide more firepower up front where it's missing and could be a solid addition as a rental, as he's a UFA at the end of the season when his $5 Million AAV contract expires.
