In a recent Boston Bruins cap space tweet, it's showing the Bruins having $9.35 million cap space and are awaiting a new deal with restricted free agent Jeremy Swayman.

It's clear that both parties would like to have a deal completed as Bruins had not filed for arbitration and Sweeney has been clear that he will attempt to do whatever it takes to lock him into a new deal. But negotiations are slow, and it seems that both parties feel that their number is more important than the other.

There have been several ideas of what could happen to Jeremy Swayman if he does not sign with the Bruins. The most likely would be an offer sheet being presented to the Bruins as some teams have extensive draft capital and would be willing to make this happened to obtain a number one goaltender.

The downside is that offer sheets can be messy as teams try to take great players from other teams and offer them draft picks.

The Bruins felt that a move was needed in their goaltending department as they were on course for tying up a significant amount of cap space in goaltending rather than other areas of the team that desperately need an upgrade. The Bruins chose to trade Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Joonas Korpisalo.

Only time will tell on whether a deal could be made sooner rather than later but Bruins fans will need to sit tight and wait to see their potential new number one goaltender be locked up to a deal long term.
