Major last minute development involving the Bruins acquiring Leon Draisaitl
A major report has just surfaced regarding the possibility of the Boston Bruins acquiring Edmonton Oilers star forward Leon Draisaitl.
A well known insider has revealed that the Edmonton Oilers are wanting to offer Leon Draisaitl a eight-year deal, but it was confirmed that Draisaitl is not looking to sign long-term.
David Pagnotta reported that the star German forward is looking for something similar to what Auston Matthews signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs, a three-five year deal.
"Unless something's changed since the start of the playoffs, it's more likely to see a Auston Matthews-esque type of extension . . . anywhere from a three to five year extension versus a full eight."
- David Pagnotta
If the Edmonton Oilers cannot agree on a contract with Leon Draisaitl this could be huge for the Boston Bruins as it was reported that the Bruins are favourites to land the German forward if he does indeed hit the free agent market.
