Today, during group B's session at Bruins training camp, 2022 second-round pick Mathew Poitras played in the first-line center spot with David Pastrnak. Poitras spoke about the opportunity to play alongside the Bruin's sniper.

«He's one of the best players in the world, so anytime you can skate with a guy like that, you just have to try to raise your level of competition and play...and it's really cool.»

Still 19 years old, Poitras will likely be sent back to juniors this season and play for the Guelph Storm of the OHL. But it shows the organization and head coach Jim Montgomery is intrigued by the youngster's talent, especially by pairing him with Pastrnak.

It also doesn't eliminate the possibility of the team handing him an NHL roster spot if he proves he belongs.
