The Boston Bruins are starting off a two game road trip against the St. Louis Blues tonight and are looking to bounce back from a embarrassing loss to the Senators on Saturday.
During their game against the Ottawa Senators Saturday, the Boston Bruins were held without a shot on net during the third period, and this was the first time this has happened to the Bruins since 2007.
So far this year the Boston Bruins play has been super sloppy, and filled with a lot of turnovers and defensive breakdowns. Well Jim Montgomery feels like that may change tonight.
Just moments before puck drop, Montgomery spoke to the media and stated that the Bruins morning skate this morning looked good, he claims the passing the Bruins had was the best he has seen in awhile, and that the players look like they are ready to go.
Hopefully for the Bruins and Montgomery's case, this is true as there has been a lot of speculation surrounding Montgomery's time with the Bruins coming to an end soon.
Recently Bruins defenceman Charlie McAvoy revealed that the Bruins were set to have a players only meeting to address some issues with the team.
Even though we aren't sure when it happened, the Bruins just had multiple days off and there is a good chance it just took place after their embarrassing loss to the Ottawa Senators.
Jim Montgomery has been doing what he can all year long to get the offence to click, making line changes after basically every game to try and get something to work, but nothing has gone their way.
One of the most recent and controversial moves he, and the Bruins organization made was sending Matt Poitras down to the Providence Bruins.
Bruins fans have not liked this move by the Bruins, and have been voicing it all over social media.
Hopefully the Bruins are able to turn their season around starting tonight as they currently sit with a 7-7-2 record on the season.
