According to TSN, and multiple other sources, the Ottawa Senators are getting their star goaltender back.
It appears that former Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark is ready to make his return to the Ottawa Senators lineup. The team announced that goaltender Leevi Merilainen has been reassigned to the American Hockey League Belleville Senators.
Linus Ullmark has not played a game since December 22nd when he ended up leaving their game against the Edmonton Oilers with a back injury.
The 31-year-old was red hot for the Ottawa Senators before suffering his injury. He won eight of his last night starts before unfortunately leaving the Senators 3-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers with a back injury.
This year, Linus Ullmark has a 12-7-2 record with an impressive .915 save percentage, and a 2.38 goals against average.
He was acquired by the Ottawa Senators in the off-season when the Boston Bruins traded him there for Mark Kastelic, Joonas Korpisalo, and a 1st round pick.
Fans have had mixed feelings about the trade this season, especially since how Jeremy Swayman has been performing this year.
Bruins fans will love to hear that Linus Ullmark is back to full health and will be able to return back to action for the Ottawa Senators.
Ullmark will now look to help the Senators make the playoffs this year as they currently just sit four points behind the Toronto Maple Leafs for 2nd in the Atlantic Division.
