Rich Keefe takes another shot at Brad Marchand and humiliates himself once again
There's bad journalism, and then there's Rich Keefe of the Jones & Keefe podcast. Keefe has put out rumors that Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak are going through a rift, and it resulted in pushback from the Bruins Captain.
WEEIs Rich Keefe stood by his terrible analysis of the Bruins locker room despite Marchand disputing his heinous, and wrong take.
WEEI's Rich Keefe said Friday on the Jones & Keefe show that the Bruins locker room is a «disaster,» and Pastrnak has reportedly told the team he does not want to play on the same line as Marchand.
This is bad news for Bruins fans, and the team has someone is intentionally trying to drive a wedge between players, and it's a bit ironic if this guy still has a press-pass.
Marchand is one Bruin who is known for not putting up with nonsense.
«I've heard what was said in the media this morning. It's unfortunate,» Marchand said (via NESN). «I know reporters have a job to do and that job is to report on the team. Usually, you try to be fact-based. But when there's just blatant lies told in the media, that's where there's a problem. The fact this guy has a platform and is just making this up is embarrassing. There's zero truth to anything he said. This is how you lose a job very quickly. The fact that he's gonna have a job after this is insane.
Marchand went on to say he and «Pasta» are «best friends,» before continuing his roast of Keefe.
Keefe rebutted:
In a quick rebuttal to Marchand's response, Keefe posted a video of the Bruins captain's comments and noted, «No one acts this way if the story is really false.»
«Now I got Marchand calling for my job? No one acts this way if the story is really false. Thanks for the confirmation,» Keefe wrote.
WEEI should look into Keefe's methods of fact-finding if Marchand is publicly calling him out.
The fact that he's decided to double down on a false narrative is troubling and shows a lack of professionalism from the organization.
This kind of reporting is what you used to see back on the National Enquirer Magazines in the 90s and now, it's gone mainstream.
The Bruins had better shut this guy down before there's anymore harm caused in the locker-room, and in the front office.
