However fans and pundits are riding the wave of last seasons as in 2024-2025 left us speculating about certain players on the team, where they'll fit after a few players had career years.
One of which is Morgan Geekie who had a career year in 2023-2024 after arriving in Boston via Seattle. in 76 games with the Bruins, he scored 39 points(17 G, 22 A) and still arguably has upside not yet tapped into.
However, if he fails to meet expectations could he ride pine in Providence? He will have to prove last season wasn't a fluke.
20 goals is easily achievable for Geekie who has been utilized on the wings and as a center in 2023-2024.
Brandon Carlo could arguably have been considered one of the Bruin's best defensemen in the post-season, scoring 4 points( 3 G, 1 A) during the playoffs. As his career-best during the regular season was 6, this is something significant or is it just Dad-strength?
Carlo was linked to the Sabres during the post-season, and while he was a key contributor for the Bruins, he could've been moved if the price was right and apparently, it wasn't for Don Sweeney.
It'd be nice for the Bruins to see more points production from the stay-at-home defenseman, but he has yet to reach the 20-point mark during his career in Boston.
The Bruins would be worse without Carlo in the lineup, but in the NHL, GMs are cold-blooded.
The Bruins will look for Poitras in his 2nd year with the team to continue growing as a forward. Despite his shortcomings and suffering a shoulder injury, he still managed to produce 15 points( 5 G, 10 A) in 33 games in the NHL, at a 0.5 point per game clip.
The team will look for Poitras to increase his production, if not, could he be AHL fodder until his next call-up?
