Tragedy strikes the hockey community following the death of 21-year old goaltender Zachary Bourassa
The hockey community experienced a tragedy after the announcement of a 21-year old goaltender passing away.
This past weekend a hockey tournament was being hosted in Quebec, and ended in a tragic way.
During a tournament being held at Martin-Bergeron Park in Trois-Rivieres, 21-year old goaltender Zachary Bourassa passed away during a hockey game cardiac arrest.
In a statement on social media following Bourassa's passing, his family clarified that the passing had nothing to do with playing hockey.
In a sad statement on Facebook, his mother shared that he had passed away doing what he loved to do most, play hockey.
Last night, Zachary left us while practicing his favorite sport. He leaves a giant void around him, he was so young and had his whole life ahead of him. Please watch over us and your beautiful Elo. We love you Zach.
The hockey community has come together once again after his passing and have started to leave flowers, hockey sticks and other memorabilia outside to remember him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bourassa family, and friends during this tough time.
May Zachary Rest in Peace.
