Tyler Bertuzzi has opened up and revealed why he chose not to re-sign with the Boston Bruins.

Tyler Bertuzzi priced himself out of Toronto and once it was announced that the Leafs re-signed Max Domi, Bertuzzi knew he was not returning to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Once free agency opened on July 1st, it was announced almost immediately that the Chicago Blackhawks signed Tyler Bertuzzi to a four-year deal.

The former Boston Bruins player opened up and revealed the reason that made him want to sign in Chicago and it was due to another former Boston Bruins player in Nick Foligno.

Nick Foligno was the reason that Bertuzzi signed with the Chicago Blackhawks, he revealed that the Blackhawks weren't really on his radar going into free agency but Nick Foligno reached out and told Bertuzzi that the Blackhawks were interested in signing him.

Kyle Davidson and Tyler Bertuzzi agreed on a four-year deal worth $5.5 million, and former Bruin Patrick Maroon will also be joining the Chicago Blackhawks heading into next year.

The Blackhawks made a bunch of moves to better their team, and even though they might not be a contender this year, they are taking the right steps to build towards that in the future.
