With the NHL roster freeze upon us soon, Insider Chris Johnston has released a trade board of the top-five players who could be moved soon.

Of those five players, only one Boston Bruins has made the list, gritty forward and former 1st round pick Trent Frederic.

There were rumors swirling earlier in the year that Frederic could be moved to a contender, as he has the kind of play style contenders could use. He has a goal-scoring ability and will drop the gloves to protect himself, and his teammates.

Frederic will be a pending UFA at the end of the season and since his contract is moveable there will be many teams interested in him.

Elliotte Friedman notes that the Bruins and Frederic could be on the outs.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman provided more information about Frederic's situation on the latest episode of 32 Thoughts: The Podcast. He also shared that the 2016 first-round pick is generating plenty of interest.

"There are definitely some teams out there that feel that the Bruins and Frederic won't be able to get a deal done." Friedman said.

For only $2.3 Million AAV, the next team he is moved to could get a lot of value out of Frederic.

Friedman also added:

"He's the kind of player that playoff teams are going to want. They're really going to want a guy like that. He's a good teammate. He's competitive and a willing combatant He's a very popular teammate. So, I think there's a lot of interest in him... We'll see where it goes, but whatever the Bruins' intentions are here, they are getting a lot of calls about him."

There's been no update on Trent Frederic's contract status, as GM Don Sweeney and the Bruins have been silent about the forward.

Friedman notes that if the gritty Bruins forward moves into 2025 without a deal there'll be many high-end suitors for the forward.

This season, Frederic has played 33 games for the Bruins and scored 11 points( 5 G, 6 A).

He scored a career-high 40 points( 18 G, 22 A) in 2023-2024 and like many Bruins players have failed to play up to expectations this season.
