Yesterday the Chicago Blackhawks faced off against the Utah Hockey Club in their first game of the 2024-25 season, and Pat Maroon got tosses from it.
With under a minute to go in the last period, Dylan Guenther scored his second goal of the night, and Pat Maroon was not happy with it. He ended up flipping a player on the Utah Hockey Club and got given a misconduct for it.
Something must have been said or done to Maroon, that pissed him off, and he more then likely didn't like starting the season off with a loss. During the screaming match former Boston Bruins goon Pat Maroon could be seen pointing out to the hallway and threatening a Utah member to a fight after the game in the parking lot. Many people believe he was calling out Liam O'Brien.
The Blackhawks were trailing 3-0 at one point, but started to comeback with the help of Connor Bedard who had two apples, they made the game interesting making it a 3-2 game at one point but would ultimately hand Utah their first win in franchise history, taking the game 5-2.
Pat Maroon is filled with passion, and knows how to get his team fired up, but losing it in game one just seems insane. During their loss Maroon saw 13 minutes, and 27 seconds of ice, and even got some time on the second power play.
Maroon was interested in re-signing with the Boston Bruins in the off-season, but it seems like the Bruins wanted to go a different direction, and didn't offer Maroon a contract during free agency.
