Recchi's impressive playing career spanned 1,652 games, during which he amassed 1,533 points. He achieved several accolades, including seven All-Star appearances and three Stanley Cup championships with different teams. In 2017, he was rightfully inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Following his playing days, Recchi took on various roles in the hockey world, including serving as a senior adviser with the Dallas Stars and contributing to the Pittsburgh Penguins' coaching staff during their 2016 and 2017 Stanley Cup victories. He later joined the New Jersey Devils' coaching staff in 2020, further enhancing his coaching experience.
Notably, Recchi has also been part-owner of the Western Hockey League's Kamloops Blazers since 2007, connecting him with his roots as a player in the WHL. His wealth of knowledge and passion for the game make him a valuable addition to the Columbus Blue Jackets' coaching staff.
