A terrifying event unfolded when New Jersey Devils prospect Case McCarthy was hospitalized last night.

McCarthy Hospitalized

Case McCarthy, the alternate captain for the Boston University Terriers and a fourth-round pick of the New Jersey Devils in 2019, was taken to the hospital last night after a chilling collision with the boards.

It is reported that McCarthy sustained a broken collarbone, which will likely terminate his season.

As part of one of the best defensive pairings in the NCAA alongside Canadiens prospect Lane Hutson, this injury will be a significant setback for BU in their quest for success in the Hockey East playoffs.

Coach Jay Pandolfo remarked on the incident:

It's always frightening to see one of your players and teammates suffer such an injury. The good news is that he got up. He has movement in all of his extremities, which is reassuring; he's doing quite well.

We hope for McCarthy's complete recovery in time for the next season as he continues his journey to the NHL.
