Boston-Native John Carlson has been sidelined since late December after a 90MPH slap shot to the head resulted in a severe injury.

Carlson's Comeback

As he nears recovery from his head injuries, the Capitals can look forward to the return of their leading defenseman. Despite their slim playoff chances, Carlson's presence will provide a welcome boost to the team.

Carlson's value, either as a trade asset or a key component of the Capitals' rebuilding strategy, is significantly higher when he is healthy.

Details of Injury Revealed

The extent of Carlson's injury was extremely serious.

Once he was well enough, Carlson described his experience:

«It felt like being struck by lightning,»
«The pain was unbearable, and I was unsure if I would make it through.»

On December 23rd, Carlson sustained a fractured skull and severed temporal artery from the slap shot. Fast forward three months, and the Capitals' top defenseman may be ready to return as early as next week.

Despite facing significant challenges, Carlson's dedication to the sport remains unwavering. He is as committed as any Boston boy would be!
